Best Vegetarian Fast Food Restaurants Shanghai Near Me

4worldlovers: This is opposite the Jin An temple in Shanghai. There are four vegetarian restaurants in the building-this restaurant is on the 4th floor-it is a bit pricey (set price) but has the most incredible range of food-buffet style. Soups, teas, starters, main course and desserts-a huge range. The first time we went we were a bit concerned because some of the names (everything has English labels) were like pork chops and spare ribs-but don't worry its all veg. Dishes that are vegetarian rather than vegan are labelled as such.

This time we went on Sunday lunch and were amazed - the place was packed out. Its obviously the in place to go for Shanghai vegie families for Sunday lunch.

Staff don't speak much English but it does not matter as everything is labelled.

Cons: bit pricey, Sunday lunch not a place for a quiet meal

This restaurant is great if you love fake meat, they have lots of it. However, I’ve visited this in 2017 was never excited about my food--I remember getting a soup (which was OK) and a vegan duck dish made of yuba (which was pretty good). I recently had the twisted BBQ tofu (which was a bit sweet for me) and a square of something white and green (the green being mushed peas, the white being ???), which was interesting, but not my cup of tea. I did like this location better than the one in Jingan, but it seems this one may have possibly closed so double check before you go.

Sadly this restaurant has closed down. We tried to find it but the building is now a construction site.

Vegetarian Life Style may be my favorite veg restaurant in Shanghai so far. I checked with the staff three times on three different occasions if their food was "vegan" or just "vegetarian," and they assured me every time that everything's vegan - no dairy or eggs.

Unlike many Chinese restaurants that close between 3-5pm or so in the afternoon, they're open all day. I loved their mushroom fried rice, fried green beans, and sweet and sour mock chicken.

The restaurant serves Sichuan Chinese Cuisine. Stuff is friendly and can speak English. Also you can find English names in the menu. I had stir fried vegeterian chicken with three cups of sauce, that was the best mock meat in my life. Also dumpling is delicious. It's not a cheap restaurant but totally worth every bite you have!

Brilliant food every time I have visited. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The food itself has a few mock meats, but can be avoided if you wish. It is truly delicious what ever you have.

The food was delicious, the restaurant looked upscale, the service was good, this is now my favorite restaurant in Shanghai.

The food here is diverse and fantastic. There is mock meat but it’s not even needed; that’s how good it is. Don’t worry, when you arrive, it looks like the building has been boarded up but the entrance is just on the side of the building in the driveway.

We thought the dishes were small, so we asked for 4 option for share (Tofu, rice, vegetables and more tofu LOL) and this was a lot of food por us (my husband and I). Demasiado rico!!!

This is the third Jujube restaurant that I visited in Shanghai and it keeps getting better and better. Their recipe consistency is on point and the same applies for the tastes and quality of their dishes. I tried the sweet and sour spare ribs, the mock chicken skewers, the stir fried sword beans and the very delicious chilled mango sago cream with pomello and litchi. They have many veggie versions of traditional Chinese dishes and their mock meats have good textures. This is a fantastic place to take a heavy meat eating Chinese friend and let him/her enjoy the experience. This location has the best interior design from the ones that I checked out so far.
